I walked out of the supermarket and held the bag with food close, to the park. Staring at the ground I walked over the street, hearing a car just driving past me. I smiled a little and jumped on the street. Mom says I don't see danger in things. That's funny. She says I changed, that the boy she took in changed a lot. Maybe I did, but not in a bad way.
I walked into the park and walked through it until I saw the boy from next door on a bench, sleeping. I watched him for maybe 10 minutes before I moved him a little. "Wake up..." I whispered, looking at his face. I touched it slowly with my fingers before he opened his eyes. I took my hand back and smiled at him. "You can't sleep in the park, silly."
He stared at me before he sat slowly up, rubbing his eyes. "D-Did I fall asleep?" he whispered. I giggled and nodded. He sighed. "Great." he ran a hand through his hair and kept looking at me.
I just smiled at him and hugged the bag. "You're the new kid from next door, right?" I asked, curious. He nodded in response and stood up slowly. "Do you have the room with the window looking at the park?"
"Yes... why?" he asked, doing his shirt good again.
"Then you have the room next to mine." I giggled.
"Yay..." he said, not sounding really happy.
I pouted a little. "If you want to know the place, you can always ask me." I suggested him. "I know this place pretty good." I smiled to him.
I nodded and hugged the bag. "If you want I can show you tomorrow." I smiled and grabbed his wrist. "Wait, I will show you already a little." I started walking and ran to the building again with him. I looked back at him and smiled. "You will like it!" he started coughing a little, breathing heavily, when I ran upstairs with him to the roof of the building. I opened the door and let his wrist go, putting the bag on the ground.
"Why are we here?" he breathed out, trying to catch his breath again.
I put the bag on the ground and smiled. "Well, so you can look around a little. And if you look good you can see the graveyard." I walked to the edge of the building and stood on it, hearing the sound of the street below me. "It's open until 7pm." I said to him, looking at it. "But at midnight it's much more fun there so I found a way to get in." I added and smiled. "Oh! There is school." I said, walking over the edge to the other side of the roof. "I'm going to that school, well, not these days but normally."
"Why not now?" he asked.
I turned around and looked at him. "I they send me away for a week since I got into a fight." I shrugged. "Nothing special." I smiled.
He nodded slowly. "I think... I have to go back.. my brother must be waiting for me."
"Oh, okay." I nodded and jumped off of the edge to him. "Then I will see you tomorrow." I smiled. "in the afternoon."
he nodded again and turned around, walking off of the roof. I followed him and grabbed the bag again. We stopped at our houses and I waved at him.
"See you tomorrow." I smiled and walked inside, closing the door behind me. "Mom! I have the stuff!" I yelled and walked with the bag in the kitchen. She turned around and smiled. "Here you go." I gave her the bag and the money back. "They didn't have strawberries, they will be there tomorrow."
"Okay, honey." she said. "I will make dinner." I nodded and walked out of the kitchen into my room.
I jumped on my bed and looked at the clock 10pm. I already ate dinner and mom fell asleep on the couch, again. I smiled and looked at the wall, putting my hand on it. So we have new neighbors and the guy from today is now maybe at the other side of the wall. I smiled and grabbed a paper out of my drawer before knocking 3 times on the wall. I listened for a while but there was no answer. I pouted a little, sad. I looked at the paper again. When the house next to me was empty I made a code with Bob with knocking on the wall. He sometimes was inside the empty house so his dad couldn't find him. I put the paper inside my pocket and walked to the window, before opening it. The cold night air touched my skin when I lent out of the window and looked at the window next to me. I saw a small light coming from the room. I smirked and stood in my window. I will give him the paper, maybe he wants to do it now with me. I smiled and walked over the small edge between the windows and stopped in front of his window. I looked inside and smiled. I smiled when I saw him on his bed against the wall to my room, reading a comic, in his underwear. I giggled and knocked on the window 3 times.
